Is the new place you are about to buy suitable for you? Does it makes sense for you? While you are in the market for new property, understanding the existing features of a parcel and their implications for your project goals is critically important. In these consultation walk-throughs, we discuss your project goals, and see how a new home or piece of land can accommodate your vision.
If you've already settled into a place, but need help understanding the surrounding ecology and how it can work with your vision, a consultation will help you interpret the complexities of your property, and how the space can be designed to function better.
Site Analysis / Concept Research.
The key to ecological or sustainable design is a comprehensive site analysis and assessment phase. To be successful, designed landscapes must be informed by what's already going on. My combined knowledge of map-making, environmental systems, and ecological principles help me to interpret and describe the complexities of a project site. This is the first, and most important, phase of any project.
Schematic designing helps "try on" broad ideas or concepts. In this phase, alternatives are created to help envision the different design options that your landscape has. This design phase helps brings focus to particular elements in the landscape, and creatively shows the spectrum of possibilities available.
This phase often brings the design to completion. Detailed designs refine the elements identified in the schematic designs, and provide information of specific plantings, grading schemes, installation considerations, costs, and materials sourcing.
